I am 38 and the youngest of 4 girls. My oldest sister is 17 years older than me and the others are in between. My oldest sister lives in another state I has not had any contact with me for about 4 years. I was married in Aug 2004 and bought a new house. My 2 oldest sisters have never been to see my house and the one closest to my age has seen it 2 times briefly. My sisters are so competitive and jealous of one another that they can not see straight. I am tired of worrying that they will critcize my house and the things I buy and the way I raise my kids...even though I never see them except on holidays.... I want to be closer to them , but don't know how. Even though I am the youngest of all 4 of us....... I want to be the grown up here and make a difference. I have 14 year old twins and a new baby due in Feb. I dread telling them about the new baby. I will hear how stupid I am to have a baby so late and how they wouldn't do it again. How can we be firends again?

I've always said that dysfunctional family is redundant.
Don't try to change them ... try to learn from what you see and hear and if necessary avoid them or at least the situations that are going to cause that kind of BS.
As for your baby, Congratulations! And as for them not doing it again, better still.
Sometimes you can't keep friends -- sometimes you shouldn't.

Sounds like your family is disfunctional just like mine. I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. My Oldest sister lives in Virginia and constantly fights with my sisters that lives in Georgia and Illinois. My brother is a drunk and his wife is crazy.
I just have nothing to do with any of them. Cant handle it.

my sister is 15 yrs older than me and brags about what whe has...thinks she's better than me. they say to really get to a person, kill em with kindness. you could do this but i know it will be hard. or completely block them out of your life. i have tended to do that with my sister. take the clues from them and go from there.

Sounds alot like my mom and aunts. I'm not saying this cause she's my mom, but she tried many years to be the peacekeeper, but she just gave up cause she couldn't put up with her sisters behavior.
