I would guess that it is an external gas bubble disease. Check out this site to find a list and pictures of seahorse diseases and how to treat them.

PS A diet of brine shrimp alone will not be nutritionally complete and will cause a premature death.

I love seahorses also, but I resist the urge to own them because they die so easily. The spots may be a parasite, fungal infection, or the coloring of the seahorse may change do to stress, depending on what the spots look like. Is your seahorse set up correctly? If you have the correct environment for him (most importantly a tank with perfect water quality, no other fish, very slow water movement, lots of branches for him to cling to, low lighting, and lots of food for him to eat, he may get better. I would look at as many seahorse websites as I can to find out what is wrong with your set up and whether medications will hurt him more or help him. I'm pretty sure they need to eat several times a day, live brine shrimp and tiny worms, mixed with vitamins. Good Luck!

OK, a sea horse is actually a brine shrimp. They don't live very long, so don't be surprised if it dies quickly. They sell brine shrimp eggs at the local pet store. All you need is an air pump, and you can "Grow" your own sea horses. If you own a bigger fish, you can feed it sea horses.

ck the pH level in the tank, it could be a bacteria. or the tank could be eather to cold or to hot, go to the pet store where u bought the seahorse. talk to them if they cant help u find another pet store.

That is a good question that I want to know. But as long as it is good and active i'm sure it'll be just fine.
