No, just good friends for a long time. They had deep affection for one & other, but never "kicking it."

Jessica was not really a detective...she was a nymph. She was kicking it with the doc, the vet, the lawyer, the chiefs (police/fire/indian/kansas city).

Rough life. And she was only 39 at the time!
