I can understand u r question quite clearly. You are trying to change the Resolution and have trouble in doing so right ?

Possible Reason : your Graphic card does not support that Resolution. Try changing the Graphic card and then try changing the resolution.

Good Luck :-)

if you have windows XP then right click on an empty space on the desktop and go to "Display modes" then either "high colour" or "true colour" 800 x 600". (I don't know what the difference is between these two, so try both)

If you have an older version right click on the desk top and use the properties menu. Go to Settings and there should be a slider that changes the resolution, slide it to 800 x 600. Then click OK.

hope this helps

on the desktop, right-click and select Properties. Then choose Settings. You should then be able to alter the Screen Resolution to the required size and then click apply. It will ask if you're sure and then attempt to rescale your desktop.
If it cannot do this, it means your graphics card cannot deal with this processing task.
