I have a serious problem with my fellow Humans attitude that somehow we are the most "Intelligent "animal on the planet.Take a good look at Human "Intelligence" working around the globe: We have created a bomb to kill every single living thing on the Planet, Global Warming, Out of control Human Populations destroying other species Habitats, massive pollution of the Land Sea and Air. Does this sound like INTELLIGENCE at work !The natural world does not give a damn about the theory of Relativity or the painting of a beautiful picture. Only Humans do!. Can you think of ONE thing where Human Intelligence has benefited the Planet. I can't !.It only benefits other Humans.I see myself equal to the dog. the lamb, and Hyena maybe even inferior as they have survived on this planet longer than Humans, The Alligator has the most supreme intelligence of all, this species has been around for 65 MILLION years. That is INTELLIGENCE.Are we simply just another species nature is experimenting with?

I BELIEVE THAT HUMANS ARE THE MOST SELF ABSORBED, GREEDY, DECADANT ANIMALS ON THE PLANT, AND MOST OF OUR TECHNICAL ADVANCES COME AT TIMES OF WAR. BUT AS A SOCIETY WE ARE STILL THE SAME. SAD REALLY.

Intelligence has been the watchword for the Industrial Revolution and all other revolutions in history. These Revolutions have brought the good, the bad, the ugly along with them into our lives. (I am sure you would not want to live a they did prior to this time) Do not dismiss with one feld swoop all that is beneficial in life. And yes, do work to bring change in the things that need to change. We have the intelligence to accomplish change.

while i feel the pain in your argument you must admit that man has taken steps to be more careful of detriment to animals and the environment at large... but to flatly declare that there is no intellegence in the human species is to ignore what we have managed to do with our two hands... no other animal can speak, communicate, or transfer information so readily. no other animal is able to create tools of such complexity or understand their workings...

for example, the very bomb that you speak of is also the reason that you have the power to ask this question, both literally and figuratively... nuclear power provides electricity to most of the us. and the network of bombs had to be coordinated somehow... that fact led to the creation of the internet...

an alligator cannot formulate the thought that you have just voiced... its only compelling purpose in life is to eat other creatures... given its druthers, it would eat them all, and then procede to eat every other alligator... is that truly intelligence???

you ask for an example of tech that benefits animals and environment here's a very simple one, that took only twenty years to develop from thought in the mind to quite literally the moon...

one thing that we have created that will eventually benefit all other creatures, plants, and environs is the rocket... because eventually we will go... and they will be left in peace while we persue our mona lisas, our crazy theories of how everything works, and our intellegence

I think you confuse "intelligence" with "wisdom".
