I did. The actual surgery was nothing cause I was numb and drugged. The pain comes afterwards. But the best advice I can give you, is not to stay lying down afterwards. You will be so sore you fell like you will die if you move, but the pain gets worse if you don't move. Walking helps the soreness go away in about 4-5 days. Sometimes it is helpful to use a walker when you get up cause you feel like you have to stay hunched over and can't straighten up but you will, just force yourself to move and you will get over the pain quicker. Also if you have to cough or laugh hold a pillow tight over your stomache cause it helps the pain.

I never had a c-section, but my middle daughter did 2 years ago. She is a very small person and her first child was 8 lbs and she gave birth to him vaginally. It took her 3 or 4 hours of pushing and she busted every blood vessel in her face and eyes. The experience took months for her to recover from. Her second child was 10 lbs and she had a scheduled c-section so she never went into labor. She did so much better with the c-section and recovered in just a week. She is expecting her 3rd child at the end of the year and she is glad that it will be another c-section.

I had a c-section It didn't hurt when the they had cut me. I actualy felt them cutting me open I was tied down my arms and feet. for I didn't move. I hated that very much. after wards after I left the hospital I went to my familys house to show the little one. That was a mistake on my part. One your not supposed to take the stairs. I went up very slow but then i ended up in pain. You are sore for a couple of day's. But, the dr. said if you had a c-section most likey your other preg. will end up that way. But, every dr. is differant. Sorry I got into details. in the beginning. I would have another c-section. good luck to you and your child.

I had one in december and i am extremely happy with the whole thing. sure it was painful but just for 2-3 days afterwards, after that it was numb. I could feed baby the same night, I had to avoid heavy lifting and stairs ... that u end up doing anyway. stitches are a thin line way down just over the pubic line and I could workout within 8 weeks so that too was great (light pilates and walking). all in all I had a good experience and no trauma down there ;)

I had an emergency c-section for my ninth baby. The baby was breech- he had flipped into this position during labor. The surgery went great. About the 2nd day, it was time for my to get out of bed. I held a pillow in front of my stomach for support. The pain wasn't too bad. The worst part of it all, was that at times I would get a burning pain up one side of my abdomen. This was gone in about 5 days. The prize (a new baby boy) was worth all of it!
