My native tongue is Hebrew and there's no word in Hebrew "Shondo". I can give you a few similary sounding words you may have confused with:

Shonoo - Were changed
Shodo - his robbery
Hodoo - said thanks
Nadoshoo - were discussed at length

If you can find the exact reference - let me know

"shanda" is not Hebrew, it's Yiddish - an altogther different language spoken by some Jews.

When someone says, "It's a shanda," (s)he means, "It's a shame."
