I look snow-white next to some of my "white" friends, and I have a hard time tanning. I go from white to red with no chance of anything inbetween. I'm told the Swiss and Norweigian (sp?) don't tan. I have a lot of each. Suggestions?

I am EXACTLY the same way. I'm as white as paper. Im either white or burned, never tan. Even after I burn I don't develop a tan. What I have been doing, is using sunless tanning lotions and other products that u just apply to skin and in a while it turns your skin tan.

Well, you only can accept the situation - the possibility of tanning depends on the type of your skin. What I don't know is, if self-tanning cremes could help.

Some Swiss really tan well and quickly, even if they are 100% Swiss.

Use fake tan, like Mystic Tan. Don't run the risk of skin cancer since pale people with a hard time tanning, who mostly burn are most succebtible to skin cancer. Would you rather be pale or be missing chunks of skin?

Use that new olay stuff that gives you a hit of color, or go get spray on tan, or go to the tanners (if you find a good place to tan they usally help you find the best lotions and level to get you to your darkest color without burning)!

Be proud of your heritage and don't worry about it. If you can't help but be worried about it, then try short sessions at a tanning bed. start with short sessions so you don't burn. It might take longer than normal, and you might not get as dark as some people, but you should be able to darken your skin color to some extent.

Ask a tanning specialist. Maybe they can suggest a creme or something that will help you tan.

tanning is over rated!
take care of your skin!
If you're that fair, you need to be using lots of sunscreen UVA & UVB.
Sunburning your skin to try and get a tan is only damaging your skin. It's a good way to get skin cancer!

There are many skin lotions that have color enhancers in them. They are easier to use than sunless tan products. The results are gradual, and no orange color either.
