Why did our president go over seas, was it to steal oil?

He said there was weapons and didn't mention it was retaliation for 9-11. I also heard that his family is in refining oil doesn’t that sound like he uses us to steal some oil from their lands. I also think he had something to do with the planes on 9-11.

No. He could have taken it. Not retaliation. It was a deterrent for future action of the same...........sort of a preventive approach. Just because his family is in oil does not mean he would attempt to steal it. As I said earlier we could take it if we wanted. If he had something to do with the planes on 9-11 I would be suprised. Pretend your the president of the Unite States............and you have the answer right there in you head. Hope you find the answer if I have not explained it well enough for you.

Iraq had recently begun trading its oil in euros. Nothing could be more damaging to the American economy. America hadn't cared about Iraq at all before then, the freeing the iraqis was just propagana to justify the invasion.

And do you know what one of ther very first acts was after they took charge?

Recently, another middle eastern country has started tradig in Euros. Iran. And it didn't take very long at all for them to start preparing for a war there.

No, neither of them were very nice/humanitarian countries, but neither are a lot of middle eastern countries (or the USA for that matter) and you never here anything about them.

Oh, and to the person that mentioned 9/11, Iraq had nothing to do with those attacks.

Well, since Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, then it must have been for oil!!

We got about 1/2 of the oil shipped by Iraq last year, about 3 million 600 thousand barrels!

Spoke, they found tons and tons? Of What...pre Kuwait shells? They are worthless and they certainly no longer meet the definition of WMD's, and it only took 3 years to find those few!!

Well considering the fact that days after he started this war, he petioned the UN to hand over control of the Iraq Oil fields not to the United Staes, but to his families Oil company, Id say he had ulterior motives.
I think his own personal reasons for wanting to go after saddam is to finish what his father had started.
I dont think he had anything to do with the 9/11 attack. He might have known it was likely or impending, but he's not smart enough to get away with that.
Oh and to all of you who keep saying this is what you voted for, dont forget that both of the elections were in seriouse question. And May I also remind you that our voting system has stood nearly unquestioned for over 200 years until he came along.

ps- to the person who said we wouldnt be paying 3.00 a gallon for gas- um- DUH- who do you think is making the profit on that 3.00 a gallon? Congress recently petitioned the books on a buynch of politician-owned oil companies because thier profit percentage has steadily gone up since the start of the war. Mostly they are rasing prices because they can. Not because they need to.

I'm sure there were a number of reasons...the minor ones being toppling a corrupt regime and getting rid of some smaller groups of terrorists based in Iraq. The major reasons being to get a hold on the oil wells so that a new established government could allow for cheaper sales AND to keep the Saudis a little more comfortable.

First, all of the information that he received said there were weapons of mass destruction. He is not a psychic, he has to go with what the pros are saying and make his best decision, which, by the way, he was not acting alone, ask your Democratic senators where they stood on this decision. The majority were WITH the president.
Second, I prefer that it was in retaliation of 911. WE WERE ATTACKED. Should we just sit back and say "Bring it on", kill us off. Or just ask them nicely to please not do that again?

Because stupid Liberals like you would not permit increasing oil production here in the States which results in obtaining oil from hostile countries. The UN stole the oil, supporter of sanctions Oil for food directly resulted in US lives lost. Saddam bought weapons and paid bribes with the money.

You need to chill out. Yes, he is politcally motivated, but all politicans are. There were weapons actually (if you watched the news lately, they found tons and tons of biological weapons) Sure his family is in oil, but do you really think that he gets a cut of it from declaring war on another country?
