Pick the song that you know you sound the best singing and kick it up one octave. Depending on what you're auditioning for....if it is broadway or a musical - picking a classic like somewhere over the rainbow - could be a winner. If you're going to be trying out for American Idol - get some professional help so you don't make a fool out of yourself like so many people do. If it is a more of a modern feel song - pick something relatively little known instead of some overused, oversung pop rock idol song. You don't want people to think you are Madonna, or Britney do you? You want to really stand out and be yourself - something unique and beautiful not the same old thing they always hear. Is the part you're auditioning for a sweet young girl part, a sassy girl or a flirt? That will make a huge difference in the feel of the song that you choose. Pick a song that matches what you're auditioning for but probably hasn't been heard everywhere by everybody - so you can own it and it can bring out your best qualities. With more info I could give you more ideas on a specific song.

Think of all of the songs you know, and find the best ones for your voice. Ask one of your friends to listen to you sing a few of the songs that work for you, and you can pick the best one for your voice.
