If the earth suddenly and inexplicably lost most of its mass, our orbit would become unstable and we'd quickly drift out somewhere past Mars. On the planet itself, our gravity would diminish to less than that of the moon.

I imagine that this would render most forms of transportation inoperable; it would also cause the oceans to rise and most of our atmospehere would escape into space. All that would be secondary to the reduced sunlight, though.

I think you ment what "would" happen. as obviously this never "will" happen.

Of course if it hypothetically happened,then people would float away as the earth would have less gravity due to a smaller mass.In fact alot of things would simply float away.

I'm not sure.Maybe there won't be enough room in the world and people will have to start being killed.I hope that doesn't happen,though.It seems so scary just thinking about it!

we would be VERY VERY VERY crowded and our heads would be up in the upper atmosphere, making it impossible to get any O2.
