Media is another form of subtle manipulation of ones consciousness. By providing the viewer with sights/ images of people that are reminders of an enjoyable experience, . Therefore any product on sale, whose advertisement is associated with a "sex" memory is more likely to be remembered in a pleasing way. And sometimes, the more one reads or watches this particular type of media, the more we condition ourselves to accepting and wanting to view more reminders of sex experiences. The media is endeavoring to hook people in with "bait" but the bait is ourselves. They are triggering our unconscious sexual response. . .this is the bait. The more it is viewed, the more we become conditioned and want more. . .this is the hook. To entice us through our memory recall of sex experiences or fantasies . . .this is the line. To give them our money for something that we may not need. . .this is the sinker.

Because i think the media is all apart of the "form" sex being something personal, it seems to be a weakness(even though i think the whole reason for a brain developing is to know better) and within weakness there is control. within control there is power over other things. within that power is the money. Take a subject that people seem so weak and desperate about, so desperate that they'll over look the deceases, over population and unwanted children, if your the media that is a perfect pray to catch. Perfect bait for the hook. The sad thing is most of the older ones know better but it really takes the minds and innocence away from the young and naive. Not to mention a little piece of freedom. The funny thing is then the media will turn back around ever so slightly and contradict themselves enough to manipulate the public just so they don't seem that bad. They seem to create a problem just so they can come back around and say "i helped fixed that" You can depend on me and i can depend on the money it will bring.

Sex is "hyped up" in the media because humans are sexual creatures. It is instinctive for us to reproduce. Also, the fact that it's wonderful helps. Because of these things, the media uses it as a selling point. I mean, what's a better seller than something wonderful that's already instinctively ingrained within all of us?

Ask genioatrapadoxxx. While you ask a very good question, he resorts to asking how long men can go without masterbating. The fact is that sex sells, and the media uses sex to encourage people to see what they have to offer. Also, we are living in a new age, one where we are more familiar with our bodies than we were, say fifty years ago. Our sexuality has been awakened and our former prudish ideas are replaced in favor of a more libertine approach. Is it good and right? Well, since it has led to a surge in rape, a new arrival of sexism and the use of words like b*tch and s*ut to mean good things (the idea of which is foolish), I'd say no. The fact is that this sexual awakening has not raised our knowledge of ourselves, in fact, it has diminished our value by making sex a priority.

Hyped or not sex sells ..and another point is that like any other business.. Media Corporates need that moolah ( profit) for survival and thirdly but not lastly it sells coz its appeal cuts across geography, race, class or any other social barrier..in, other words , it has universal appeal....that is why it is hyped .. that is , if u think so!!!!!!!!!

Is it? If sex is the most wonderful thing two (or more) people can do, is it over hyped or are you just being a prude?

Sex sells.. everything from car wax to clothing and we're goofy enough to buy into that not so subliminal message that this brand will make me sexy too... or maybe those hyper sexy shows do so well in the ratings because we're working such long hours these days it's the closest thing to the real thing we're getting?!

Because it sells. Remember, we are animals first and after our basic needs are meet (e.g., food, water and shelter), we seek pleasure. Everybody likes sex and it is the one thing that we all have in common so why not market something that we all enjoy (speaking from a business perspective)? I am not saying it's right-but that is what it is.

The problem is that people like to make simpler choices, thanks to the merge of women to society and our goverened practices being strictly about personal financial gain. Media says ignore love, have sex, and commercials say do drugs to numb your conscience... so that all we do is spend. Honesty is being bent by a false sense of acceptability.

What I ask is, is it our children's fault for not knowing what moral is? They are being taught to lie to themselves. The choices by the masses of typical society are clouded by greed and it's being promoted. The choices of the future of us all are determined by what the children now want... And what are the habits of most children today?

Because the media is the way that the devil and his associates figured out is a great way to get through to society.
