Face to face, b/c I can read the person better. Better connection when you have the person in front of you.

Over the phone. I'm more apt to be myself. I have a tendancy to be shy, especially around unfamiliar people.

That was my problem before I met my now wife. I would meet girls and act all shy and not like who I really am. As most of us know, girls don't really like shy guys. So - I didn't have a lot of luck.

But yeah, over the phone, I can act a little differently and kick back and be who I really am. With face-to-face, an impression can be lasting so I always try to be on my best behavior.

HOwever, if I've had a few drinks, i'm good face to face.

Face to face. I really don't enjoy talking to people over the phone unless it's absolutely necessary. I hate it when I can't see people's faces, reactions and expressions when I'm talking to them because my mind starts to wander about. When you are talking in person and you run out of things to say, you can just smile at the other person and enjoy the companiable silence. When I'm on the phone I have this strange need to say something all the time, no matter how stupid, just to cover the silence.

I prefer to talk to someone face to face, but I consider myself really good at communicating on the phone. I have been told I have a great phone voice, and I used to make and take calls at my old job, so my friends have gotten used to me sometimes answering, "This is Aubrey, how may I help you?" out of habit.

Face to Face. I'm terrible on the phone and even worse on voice mail.

Face-to-face, definitely. I hate phone conversations. There's always that "pressure" to say something, anything, rather than listen to "dead air". Plus, with face-to-face, you get the immense bonus of "body language, including facial expressions, that can convey so much information.
