I think it would take a VERY good analysis of whether the extra weight is fat or muscle. Neither favors him in soccer, as too much muscle takes away from the very basic moves of the game. At any rate, to answer your question, fat would make him overweight. Muscle would not.
P.S. I've been a die-hard Brazil fan for many, many years, and I have to say this year's team is NOTHING compared to what Brazil teams have always been.

Yes he is overweight for a football player. He should be able to move up and down the field without getting tired or just standing by the goal.

WHY NOT IF HE ONLY STANDS AT THE GOAL AND WAIT FOR THE BALL WHILE HIS COLLEAGUES RUN UP AND DOWN THE FIELD CHASING THE BALL.AND HE DOESNT EVEN DO WHAT HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DOING-SCORING.NO WONDER THEY HAD TO LEAVE THE GAME.HE'S SUCH A LAZY PERSON.NO WONDER HE'S OVERWEIGHT.
