There is no set age to know when one will die of old age. Many people die at 50, 60, and 70. But, a good number more people in today's society live to be in the 80s and even 90s. The age is really individualistic, and one dies of old age when one's body determines that it can no longer endure the physical strain of life.

To take a standard arguement, I would say 75+ for modern western society. I rather like the silly biblical arguement though, that states human life will on average last 3 score years and 10, 70. Thus, dived 70 by three (youth, middle age and old age) and you get youth as up to 23.3, middle age is 23.3 to 46.6, and old age is above 46.6, although this isn't too popular with people in their late 40's.

Each year, and depending on the source, life expectancy can range from 80-88 years of age for the average westerner. Different rates are present for different races, sexes, geographic regions, etc, however 85 years of age is a widely accepted approximation.

The old adage of dying of old age used to pertain to anyone over the age of 30. However, if God decides HE wants you to come home, you'll go, regardless of your age.

Got another question......what exactly are "natural causes" that people die from? How can I avoid those?!:) I guess if you don't know what they died of...its condidered natural causes.

Anyway, to answer your question....you have to be just old enough to outlive all of the known causes of death...and then its just "dying of old age due to natural causes."
