That we find it acceptable to wear bikini's when we have hot weather but we would frown if a girl took off her top and wore only her bra??? does this make sense??

Your right it doesnt make sense at all, unfortunatly this is what society expects of us and whats worse is the majority of women conform

No, it doesn't make sense. Particularly since many bras are more modest than some bikini tops.
It's the same as how men can take their tops off in public but girls can't. And you can't go to the shops in your pyjamas even though many pyjamas are more modest than some street clothes. And why girls can wear skirts but guys can't (other than in Scotland)

Cos normally its not hot enough just to wear underwear! Most women would be too self conscious to expose so much flesh without being in the sea or pool, and when ur on a beach no one really looks at you that much when youre on a sun lounger. I've gone topless on a beach and i obviously would never do that in a 'normal' environment!

You're right I've never thaought about it like that before. Women should always walk around in just a bra and knickers. What a great idea that would be!

i have always wondered about this, its maybe because bras were made as UNDERwear and bikinis are designed to be worn asa outerwear, i dunno its stupid really. Also if a woman walks around on a hot day with her boobs out, people would complain but if an overweight man walks around without a shirt on and everyone sees his moobs-thats man boobs by the way- no one cares, society is just odd really...

yea coz a bra is classed as Underwear aint it & a bikini is more of a public place kinda garment!! i know its stupid but thats how people see it i think x x

I also have thoughts about this and yes, it's kind of idiot. I just swam yesterday in my bikini and when my boyfriend saw me in my underwear while I was changing my closed, he said sorry.
