Assertions that a particular group of people is in some way superior to the rest of humanity are without foundation. Prejudice--whether based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or class--is a baneful heritage that must be overcome if humanity is to create a peaceful and just global society.

You hit the nail on the head : earth can NOT exist when there is prejudice. I have a ray of hope, though. Prior to the 1960s, a person of colour was not allowed to eat in a restaurant in the southern USA. Today, we witness inter-racial marriage. Prior to 911, Americans had no knowledge (on the whole) of Middle eastern religious beliefs and culture.
My hope is through education (the foundation of tolerance). We are a small planet and we share the same planetary problems. Peace!

As it stands now.. that doesn't seem possible. All prejiduces are based off of some perception of the person who has them. Everyone has some sort of prejiduce, even if it is minute... The only thing we really need to do to be able to live in a peaceful and just global society is to accept the fact that not everyone is like us. We need to learn to be okay if someone doesn't think the same way we do. We need to learn that no one is right and no one is wrong... because we all are right and we all are wrong.

We need to teach our children that there are shades of gray, instead of just black and white!

There is no absolute truth... and certainty is a myth!! Tolerance, people!

Its always been here and it always will!

No matter what country, city, group you are in, you will always outcast those who are the most different. "Birds of a feather, flock together." Its a saying because its true. People in the same ethnic groups look down on people different from them within the same group. "She's got tattoos" or "he needs to pull his pants up." or "look at that guys hair...he'll never get a job like that."

Its just human nature....and no, its not right, but its gonna always be here. People will always look for and judge people(good or bad) because of their most obvious difference whether it be color, religion, political affiliation, weight, accent, etc.. We just need to TRY to be more accepting of other people. You can always learn something from somebody else. No matter what your initial beliefs are about their way of life, they can always teach you something!

Just for the record: I'm a skinny 28 year old, white, republican, male, from GA.

Does that suprise you(yahoo users) that I could possibly believe like that? And you judged me as being racist, rich, and fat!

so what is your question? that wont ever happen. That is why the human race has been doomed from the begining. And you can blame the christian god for that one, since he supposedly was the one who broke us all up into the different races and languages so we coulnt build the tower to heaven.

What if your religion is based upon killing everyone who is not part of it? That's Islam in a nut shell.
