Isn't there ANYONE out there that can answer this question? Has anyone watched the news today?

I agree, Jackson- not about the oil- but I am concerned about what role we will have to play. I think KJI knows we're already spread too thin and he's just testing the waters. He's such a nut case it leaves me feeling a bit uneasy.

I'll answer.

To date, not personally in a direct manner

I am concerned. Not so much about a nuke strike on US soil, altho I keep hearing Kim Il Jung is loony. I am more concerned that he will attack S. Korea, Japan or Taiwan, in that order. He's less likely to go after Taiwan, because that would piss of China.

If he attacks S. Korea, which is rather possible, the question becomes: "How will the US respond?" Do Americans want to see their kids be drafted to fight another Korean War? If we get over there, will he deploy nukes? If he deploys nukes, will we respond in kind? How will China react to having us drop nukes next door?

Many possible scenarios, mainly unpleasant.

Of course, if there were oil in N Kor, we'd already have invaded, to "liberate" the Koreans.

Doesn't affect or concern me. North Korea has every right as a country to do the missle testing they are doing. I think it is just doing a little saber rattling, the US has done it many times. I am not concerned that are planning any sort of attack. They realize the consequences of attacking South Korea and don't forget they do have China pulling their strings and China would not want a war that close to their borders.
