I know here in Arkansas the beginners class is 2 1/2 days long. I have taken this class myself and learned a lot of things I had no idea about. Some states require this course while others simply recommend it. After I took the course and was added to my husband's policy I did not have to pay a premium on me for the remaining 8 months of the policy. Check out the site below for more information on approved courses.

Yea I took the MSF course, in addition to not havign to take the driving portion of yrou test you do get a little discount. I think progressive took like $100- $50 bucks of a six month policy.

To be honest though you do learn alot in the course, proper technique etc. So forget what you save on yoru insurance take it because it will prbably save yrou ***.

It all depends on your insurance carrier. Over here, State-side my insurance carrier didn't offer any discounts for completing motor vehicle/motorcycle safety courses. You should of course speak with your insurance carrier. In all seriousness, it shouldn't matter if you get a lower rate on your insurance - you should look at it as getting valuable experience and training that could help save your life.
A lower insurance rate should be looked at as just a possible BONUS.
