if you have glasses and play sports you should definatly get contacts..its so much easier! but hard lense can fall out if you run too fast or someone hits you in the eye, but soft lense can make your eyes wirse sometimes..and your eye gets dry sometimes. Hard lense you can put it in your mouth to clean if its hurting, but soft lense you can use water but it will feel dry for like a couple second. tell them u think glasses are inconvenient someimes and you are responsible.

Soft contacts are not rocket science. The only time you would really need to be responsible for them is at night when you take them out. They go in in the morning and stay in all day. Explain that to them.. It takes more responsibility to keep up with glasses!!!! They may be worried about cost if they have never used contacts before.. They are about $15 a box so not too bad.. Good luck convincing them!

You need to figure out if you think you are responsible or not. If your parents don't see that you behave responsibly then you probably aren't. No offense. Parents are smart, and it's their job to make you into a responsible person.
Getting good grades and watching your brother are good examples of being responsible. But, you need to think of some other things you can do to show your growing up. Maybe they don't see your being resonsible now but if you make an effort to be more of a responsible young adult they will come around. Have you broken or lost your glasses? Your room and bathroom a mess? Fight with your brother? Get jealous of your friends things and express this to your parents?
Try thinking more of a selfless and grown up person. If you break or misplace something, accept responsibility for it. Verbalize this to your parents, show that you understand that you were wrong and your going to work to get better. Find other areas you can improve on and suprise your parents. Make breakfast instead of your Mom doing it, help with dinner, pick up the house or your room withouth them having to ask. Do the little things and they should come around. That's what being responsible is all about, knowing what things need to be taken care of and having the discipline to do them. Don't gripe or whine, act like a grown up and your parents will treat you like one.
If all else fails, communicate with your parents that getting contacts are important to you and maybe make some plan with them on how you can get them. Perhaps if you tell them that you will display your ability to be responsible for 2 weeks and if they agree that you followed through then you get your contacts.
Good Luck!

Do you have glasses. Tell them that they always fall of and you need contacts to stay in ur eyes. If you DON'T have glasses, then tell them that you need contacts so that you can see better without having problems. Also mention that contacts cost lesser than glasses. But if you just want contacts just because then I'd make a promise with my mom like," MOm if you let me get contacts, then I'll keep my room clean, wash the dishes, and take out the trash for now on!."

It probably has been a while since your parents checked the updates in the contact wearing world. It is easy to clean, store and wear contacts now. They have semi-disposables that you wear for a couple months, so they dont need the extensive cleaning like those daily-wear-only-have-one-pair-per-year contacts of yesteryear. Plus if you loose one, it is not a big deal because you get a year supply (6 pair) each year. You can call and order more in a jiffy too. I go to Optim Eyes, here in Michigan. They are resonably priced and you can walk out of the place with contacts. Check out their website and get your parents to at least go to a consultation with you (they are free) to decide if contacts are right for you.

I wear contacts-my optometrist says it's ok for my 16 year old to wear them but the risk of infection and vision loss is so high that I wouldn't let him. When you wear contacts your eyesight gets worse almost every year. I advise you not to. The only way I can see you convincing your parents is to ask them to get them for you to wear once in a while-not all the time. As a parent I may consider that-so they might.

Well, I had to try to convince my parents to let me have contacts too. Try telling your parents that contacts make you see better than glasses, or say that sometimes you get a really bad glare or reflection on your glasses that bother your vision. If this doesn't work, you could always try begging for 5 hours. Good Luck!

I have an same situation except i'm blind in a unmarried eye and the different one is in simple terms about acceptable yet besides in simple terms say that if i had contacts then you definitely doesn't might want to fret about the lenses and breaking the glasses. yet keep in mind there are some cons on having contacts mutually with because you're in simple terms about blind in case your eyes get contaminated from having contacts in to lengthy then you definitely will be blind invariably. that is perhaps why they're afraid of you having glasses. So tell them that you'll take complete duty of the contacts and carry out slightly study.

Well start off with some good solid reasons.
1. They will be good because you can hardly feel them when they're in.. and would eliminate the problem of wearing glasses when doing certain things.. like when it rains, swimming, typing... idk stuff like that.
2. They definitely let people see the real YOU.
3. Tell them you really care about your well being and that you will take care of your eyes by cleaning them about remembering to put them in and out.
I have contacts and they've made quite a difference in lifestyle! Good Luck with your parents!

Well, first of all maybe you should do some extra duties around the house and maybe asking if they need extra help on weekends like babysitting your little brother when they don't ask and telling them that they should go and have a nice romantic meal or even making a meal for them when they get home....Or just showing them that your studying more and trying to ask for extra help in subjects your not so good in or just showing them that you can have something and believing that you can earn it.
