Is it normal to ask for them in a salon? Would you get them? And why would someone get them?

yes they are so tacky...but then again I think the acrylic finger nails are too. I don't get it. Is it a badge of honor to have mile long nails that say I don't do anything with my tacky painted hands all day. They scream high maintenance.

I think that they are disgusting, simply because toenails are already a little thick, so when they slap acrylic on it just looks like these massive toenails. I would never get them. Also, I had a friend who got them and someone at the bar stepped on her foot and the acrylic broke in half, ripping off her entire nail. Now she has to spend the entire summer with a nasty big toe. Ew. Just get a regular pedicure.

As far as toenails I wouldn't do it. But then again I do not let people touch my feet. The whole concept of a pedicure gives me a panic attack LOL.
But as far as fingernails. I wear acrylics all the time. First of all my natural nails are very thin and break very easily. Plus with my job I am constantly breaking or tearing them often to the point of it being painfully short and bleeding. I keep them shorter acrylics. I have to for my work. But I do wear them at all times and take care of them. It has solved most of my fingernail problems as far as the pain etc. Plus I like being able to get designs and do something special for myself which all women deserve to do.
To the person that said they are tacky. They do not have to be. And just by appearance most people do not even realize mine are not real. So quit passing judgment on everyone.

I wouldn't think it would be normal, I've never seen someone with fake toenails. I would never get them, I keep my toenails short and painted but not fake. Someone might need them if they have really bad toenails I guess or maybe ones that were missing from some type of accident.

Definitely! That's horrible!! Toenails should be as short as possible! Unless there's something wrong with your toenail - like you hit it and it's fallen off, there's no reason to do that to yourself! Or, to other people!!

i understand acrylic finger nails because i chew on my finger nails. But i do not understand acrylic toenails, but then again i don't chew on my toe nails.

Speaking as a guy, I couldn't care less about a womans toenails.
The only people who care about your toenails are you, and other women.
If you want to impress a guy, forget about toenails unless you can turn yours into beer holders.

no, seems gross, then you would have to clean under them all the time. Long toenails are a turn off.

i don't know why anyone would get them. it sounds pretty discusting to me. i guess maybe if you had really nasty toenails but i don't even know how they'd put them on the pinky toes. YUCK.
