yes with the same test first response wouldn't read positive for two days after the answer early result confirmed pregnancy
actually if you go to this site it points out first responce isn't as reliable as most people think... http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hpt.html#firstresponse
First Response Early Result is a test that claims you can test 3 or 4 days before your period is due. Calls to the company about the hCG level detected have been answered with "no comment" or "privileged" information. An e-mail to the FDA about the test received a reply of 25 mIU, but this is not in the customer-searchable database. When it came out, a couple of people e-mailed FertilityPlus to say that the new test detects 15-20 mIU. So far we have had several people report false-positives, faulty tests, and several who have been pleased with early and very early detection . . . It is important to note that this test won't work for everyone because implantation (6-12 dpo) needs to occur before one will get a positive result.

the hormone levels in a normal pregnancy increase by appx 66% over a 48 hour period (33% a day) so it is very possible to get different readings a day apart because of the rapid increase.
I hope this answers your question. If you did get a + I wish you all the best this time around. See about having a cervical sutre put in to stop you dialating too early. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you xxxxx

Yes, it can happen because the hormones aren't strong enough yet to test positive. I waited until the s before my missed period and it was negative. But the next day it was positive. It just has to do with the the strength of the hormone in your system

My friend had taken a test and thought she was late but wasn't sure. We all looked at that stick for 10 minutes and thought there was a line there, but finally decided it was our eyes and she had gotten a negative test.
One week later, she still didn't have a period and tested again, guess what? Full on line, no mistaking it.

I kept testing negative for 8 weeks on the home tests until I went to the doctor. Sure enough, I was pregnant! I would go to a doctor to make sure. Because if you are, you don't want to be taking any medications/drink alcohol.

its happened to me and many women i know. i know its hard to wait.... but if you test ont he day your period is due you have a MUCH better chance of getting accurate results.
if you have a short luteal phase that is only 12 days and you test 5 days before your period - thats only 7 days past conception and it may not have implanted yet (in fact, it most likely has not since implantation usually takes place between days 7-10)

when you are trying to get a early result, the first wee of the day is usually more concentrated so best do it in the morning when you first get up.

yes. it happens quite regularly. my wife's first test was negative. and the next, like the next day, was positive. depends on how the pregnancy hormone increases in your system.

Yes it is quite possible because your hormone level can change from one day to the next.
