I guess... well, ugly is in the eye of the beholder!

Not all deformities make a face ugly. In "Master and Commander: the far side of the world", I loved James D'Arcy's face, because he had that huge scar across it. In "Phantom of the Opera", Gerard Butler as the phantom was so sexy with the deformities that he was given. People can be ugly with no defects. Maybe their features just don't go together.

Well, ugly/attractive is a personal preference. "They" (meaning those experts that apparently sit in a room somewhere and decide stuff) do say that the more symmetrical a face is, the more attractive the person is said to be. Most celebrities have very symmetrical faces. But in the end, I think it comes down to being an individual thing.

Definitely the old addage-->"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".

After getting to know the most physically beautiful person in the world and discovering they have a nasty personality, they may actually appear "ugly" to you.

If it has an ugly expression (always frowning or scowling), then I would say it is ugly.
