I am unfamiliar with Lott's comment, where did you find it. I would like to know the context before I form any opinion.
As a fact though, to one of his FEW credits, Bush has appointed more minorities to high positions than any other president.

Because as much as they like to blame the Liberals for everything including racism( by doing too much for they poor we keep them down) under it all they are the biggest racists there are. They are talking a good game because they want the black vote and it's working with some.And using Condi and Powell to show how good they now( not racist) isn't cutting it. Powell has jumped ship and has reversed some of his views. They didn't listen to him anyway. He was a token and now Condi is. What a farce!!!

But the term welfare queen has nothing to do with race.
There are welfare queens of races, creeds, colors and religions.

Depends on what you call racist. Black people call each other the ‘n’ word. Irish to Irish use their ‘n’, Latino-Latino call each other each of their words. Therefore minorities in the US call each other names but will call the ACLU if anyone not in their group calls them by the same name. Why the hypocrisy?
