I'm at work then I have class and one of my contacts feel dirty, but I don't have solution on me and I don't have time to run to the pharmacy. What should I do? I have rewetting drops that I keep using, but it's not working. Need good advice ASAP.

I would NOT put my contact in my mouth, it doesn't sound sanitary and it also sounds like it will break down the contact (if soft) and hurt your eye even worse. Take out your contact and use your rewetting drops to thoroughly clean off the contact lense. Then drop the drops into your eye to rinse it before you put the contact back in. If that doesn't work try your campus (?) nurse's office, they usually keep stuff there to use.

Rewetting drops usually work for me. However, since you're desperate, you could put it in your mouth for a second. You don't want to make a habit of this because you can create a protein buildup on your eye, which is obviously a bad thing. For this emergency, go ahead, but purchase a small bottle to carry with you for the future.

You can try taking the lens out then useing the rewetting solution on it, then putting it back in. You probaly have something stuck between it and your eye. I hate that!

DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH! Not only is that gross, but it is very unsanitary and could be harmful to your eye. You can just use water to rinse off the contact. You can even carry around a bottle of water for that purpose only, if you for some reason don't have access to running water.

Water is a DUMB answer...NEVER use water. The only thing you can clean your lenses with is the proper solution.....there is nothing else you can use. You should be able to carry a small flat lens case with some solution in it , in your pocket.

for future refence, purchase a small bottle of solution to keep in your purse or desk, that way you'll have it if your contacts start feeling dirty, that's what I do, maybe even just have a contacts case w/solution in it..

if you have hard contacts you should put it in your mouth, but if you have soft lense then it will be dry for a while, but it would clear up...use water.
