Please go to these websites and have a look at the script from the Holy Koran on the clothes these models are wearing.

These horrendouis photos are being sent right around the Muslim world as examples of how Westerners are trying to blaspheme the name of Allah and mock Islam.

I'm a Muslim, but I believe this is a hoax. I enlarged the photos and I'm sure that they have been "doctored" to inflame Muslims against the West for political reasons. But I could be wrong .....

Before we have another "Danish cartoon" blowout, please help me blow this malicious scheme out of the water. Are these photos for real, or are they doctored? If they ARE doctored, does anyone know where I can get the ORIGINAL photos?

It's clearly yet another hoax fabricated by radical Muslims to discredit Western societies, as you mention.

Don't know about the shoe and the picture of the woman in a red top. But the picture of the blond on a catwalk in a black haut couture dress: Fake. It's an dated picture of Claudia Schiffer (German model). I haven't been able to locate the original (haven't tried hard though), but she looks older now. I'd say the picture is perhaps 4-6 years old. And obviously tampered with. Though I can't say if the ornamentation is text and if so, what it says. And again, if it means anything at all, whether that has a purpose or just is a coincidence or due to ignorance?

Actually the photos appear real. The corset garment seems clearly to have been embroidered and the lie of the fabric seems to include the text.

However, if they have been retouched to include the text, for purposes of creating inflammatory images, then the problem is - WHO did it. This leads to all manner of conspiracy theories, none of them pretty.

And if the clothes are real, then you have a separate matter.

"Horrendous" photos is mostly not applicable. The one of the corset top is perhaps the most daring of the pics, and truthfully it is not that daring.

However, since in some Islamic cultures - and not all of them - the two models' appearances are prima facie offensive, whether or not any Arabic script of any provenance is present is almost secondary.

The nub of the matter, of course, is quoting someone's holy book on apparel or other items. If the texts are from the Q'uran - for which we must take you claim, most of us cannot read it - there are those in Islam who also will find the usage at least disrespectful, if not openly blasphemous. You certainly are very upset, and you report others are upset, as well.

Some people would similarly be distressed at Biblical quotes being used on clothing.

It is impossible to forbid such insensitiviy. Despite anger by those who find it offensive, there are others who find the matter a non-issue and certainly not a matter of law. Most of the world is not ruled by theocratic states, whether Sharia or Orthodox or Christian Evangelical, and generally place these matters in the realm of taste and personal concerns, rather than law.

Appropriate response would best be directed at those who either made these clothes, or doctored the pictures, rather than at governments and nations.

If it is a joke, who cares, if it is real don't buy them. All other religions are expected to accept jokes, cartoons and even "art" showing thier sacred items being put in urine and worst.

The fact the Islam world went on a rampage because of a harmless joke or cartoon about them is a pure sign of the hatred and dangerous position of what is claimed to be a peaceful religion.

They need to accept the fact that in a free society ( not thier religion controled states) having your religion made fun of is part of the right you have to put up with.

Whoever is doing this is an idiot...
I don't know what religion these people are from, but they should have respect for Muslims...
Also, Muslims shouldn't be extremists either because thats not in our religion...
Islam is a peaceful religion and we should not be known as the terrorists...

They look doctored to me as well. I haven't heard anything about them and have not seen the pictures before this. I think it's someone playing a cruel joke.
