I don't get it. FIFA has said that the game against Holland was a refereeing farce. The FIFA president said that the ref should have given himself a yellow card as well. The ref in the England game said that C. Ronaldo had nothing to do with the red card given to Rooney. Also, in terms of this supposed "diving"...have you seen the way that Italy, Argentina, Germany and France all play. Thierry Henry dives....Ballack got carded for diving....Italy got a PK to beat Australia on diving....why can't people just respect them as a team. They have a good coach. They were runners up in the Euro 2004. Maybe...just maybe, they're a good team??

I hate to say it but Portugal is one of the dirtiest teams in the world cup. Not only they did a couple red card offenses against Holland, but Figo was the star for dirty play. He made a meal of a hand hitting him in the face and got the Holland player sent off. If that wasn't so bad, Figo also head butted a Holland player right behind the referee's back.
I have to say they were even tempered in the England game because England knew all they had to do was provoke Portugal to doing stupid things and and it didn't work. Even when Rooney decided to wipe his feet on a portugal players nuts.

People who talk about Portugal being dirty are the same people who don't know sh*t about soccer,
kinda funny too how all the sh*t talkers are people who were cheering for their team which lost to Portugal...lol
just a bunch of little kids who watch soccer every 2 years and repeat everything that the media says, I guess these people have never seen previous games of Portugal getting robbed of wins..
Funny how people say Renaldo dives, but know one seen Thierry Henry dive like a swimmer against Argentina which lead to the play that scored, Henry should of received a yellow for diving but like always the French cheat and have the backing of FIFA. I guess people are blind and only see what they wanna see..I hope Portugal wins to make these noobie soccer fans STFU....

Portugal has been unfairly criticised. It must have been propagated by pro-England media who are still sore about losses to Big Phil Scolari+ England FA still felt like a rejected bridesmaid after being left by Scolari at the altar.
There were bigger cheats like Italy's Grosso earning penalty in last seconds in Italy-Australia match.
Since Brazil is out, I am rooting for the "Brazil of Europe" Portugal to prove all these other critics wrong by beating France and Italy in final.

Because it is the dirtiest team out there (PERIOD)
Just like Euro 2000, remember that, Figo storming off, players hitting the ref. Portugal was and still is (they got worse) a team of unsportsmanlike players. Yes, other teams do it to (Argentina) and certain players (Totti,, Henry, Ballack,..) but not the whole (&%^$%$ team.
GO FRANCE, GO ITALY, GO ANY TEAM before Portugal !

I agree cause sure C.Ronaldo does dive but ther r many more playas 4rm ada teams dat dive 2!!! y would rooney get sent off 4 pushin Ronaldo any way in the portugal vs holland game they wer all pushin each other any way and hardly any of dem got a red card!!! i know dat dey r a good team actually dey r a brilliant team!!!! they hav broken their record y cant they win da wc? Not only was Ronaldo diving all over the field, but you could very plainly see him winking after the official made a terrible call against England AND you could even see him mouth "Shhhh!" to one of his teammates.... he's a poor sport and he gives the game of soccer a bad name. That's why I like hockey- you don't get away with diving, and if you lay on the playing surface pretending you're hurt, someone will make you pay... and you'll get labelled as the biggest pansy in the league....

I love Portugal and no matter what the others say I will still be a fan of the team.I've watched all the World Cup matches and in conclusion every player tries to work himself out in order to give his team a boost.You can call it diving or a way to beat your opponent in a sneaky way.But all this happens for the best.

C'mon, which country is the only team that has like 3 -4 players starting a din when something happens on the field. I had no idea why C. Ronaldo had to do intervene during that match with England. It was just courting for trouble and trying to make his voice known.

Yeah, everyone says that they cheated. Portugal is just a good team and they can't be ok with that fact. Ronaldo didn't have anything to do with that red card. Im sorry, but England fans are just jealous.

Take out the dives and dirty play and Portugal might, just might be ok. The have good skill but cheapen it with tricks. Watch the off the ball antics today - it will not be a pretty sight!
