I'm a homophobic homo. I can't stand gay guys yet I'm gay. I hate the way they act, if they want to be accepted by society stop being gay. Gay isn't a choice, but living the gay culture is.

You're talkin to a gay guy. I hate the whole "that's stereoptypical" thing. Those types of **** are the reason we have stereotypes. There's probably a lot more like me, but who, like me, doesn't want to be associated with those types. They force us into the closet unless we seek to enroll in their materialistic "FAB" lifestyles.

i agree! you've hit it right on the head. there is a difference between liking men and living like a 'fag'. it is unneccessary for 'gay people' to live their lifestyles IN YOUR FACE. being camp is one thing, but going out of your way to be 'fabulously outrageous' is just not on. Homophobic homo? That's just perfect!

Unfortunately, the gay scene can be anything but desirable - even for homosexuals themselves. The emphasis on sex, youth, physical appearance and status - combined with the horrific mental torture that some gay people like to inflict upon each other - in addition to playing Russian Roulette with their sexual health. When cornered about this, these people play the "victim" claiming that homophobic society is responsible for this, where in reality this is not true as the problem is far worse in gay friendly cities.

Thankfully, the world described above doesn't represent all gay people. There are gay couples and individuals who don't entertain the gay scene. You find them in gay social/activity groups. Contact your local LGBT help/social group (or any LGBT helpgroup if you don't want your local area). Details of LGBT organisations can be found in the Gay Times, or by phoning the Lesbian/Gay Switchboard (if you're in the UK).

For online activity, you might want to consider looking at outeverywhere.com as this places more emphasis on friendship/social activities rather than sex.

So, can you not stand yourself? If you're familiar with all of what "the gay culture" is, then I suppose you must be living it as well.

The "gay culture" I personally live includes dart teams and a group of about 20-30 that gets together once a week to play cards or board games or trivia games. My gay life includes art and theatre and soccer matches and adopting an economically disadvantaged family during the holiday season.

Why not strike off in your own direction and create what you want to have? Act the way you want to act. Allow others to behave the way they want, as long as it doesn't do physical or emotional harm to others.

I think you're just pissed off cuz you're gay....period.

Don't blame other people for your own problems. That's a total cop-out.

I certainly understand your dislike for the 'queeny' Ab-Fab gays that act campy....but remember...it's JUST AN ACT.
Inside these people are REAL people with emotions and hurts just like you.

If you can't ...as a gay man....at least tolerate your gay brothers, then just keep your mouth shut. You're no better than the christians who biotch about them, making you part of the problem instead of the solution to tolerance.

Whoa this one is tough. First of all not all Homosexuals "act" a certain way, that's generalizing. People that act wild do so because they are out there to begin with, not because they are gay. I know gay men that you would NEVER know are gay and on the same hand I know gay men that a blind guy in New Jersey knows is gay (I live in FL by the way) The gay lifestyle is part of who a gay man/woman is. Sounds to me like you have issues within yourself. Not with others

I'm only sick of people who are sick of typical gays. I just don't mind gays. Do whatever you please. It's okay with me. And I think you should know by now that the way you behave, talk and dress, for example, is a very strong way to identify yourself with a particular group you feel you belong to. Though I'm straight, it seems to me that keeping the gay culture is a very important part of being yourself. Don't be ashamed of that, just because societies haven't learnt how to deal with it yet.

Honey, you need to see that there are almost as many ways to be gay as there are gay people. There is no one "gay culture." If you're sick of one way of being gay, don't take it out on all your brothers. Try to find like-minded brothers instead.

Sweetie, I think it's FAB that you can be SOOO open and honest about the way that you feel. Isn't it FAB to be gay and TOTALLY in control of your emotions?

What's that HUNNI? You don't wanna be my FWEND? *SOB* You don't LUV ME, no more? BUT ANITA MANN! AND YOU IS IT BABY!

OH SWEET-CHEEKS DON'T LEAVE ME, PUH-LEEEAAASE!!!!! *SHRIEKS*

Not your cup of tea? Then don't drink. It takes all sorts so get over yourself. Or should all queers wear grey overalls and march in single file? Perhaps, for a bit of colour they could have pink triangles sewn into their clothes? Nope, that's already been done and is perhaps a little too retro.

people are flamboyant and histronic because it's in their personality to begin with, not because they are gay. I know LOTS of flamboyant and histrionic people that are NOT gay. So, you can't claim this as "typical" , becuase there's nothing "typical" to ANY group of people. People are people and we're all different. What are you basing this observation ON? Television? gay pride parades? drag shows?
There's plenty of gay people out there that act like your average Joe and you'd never know unless they told you. I have a hard time finding feminine lesbian women, because to me, they blend in just like straight girls. Get over yourself.
