I've searched the Internet for the recipe for organic bug spray. I know you use water and liquid dish soap. But how much of each? All the websites give different amounts of soap.

here is an organic bug spray that really works: take 4 cloves of garlic,2 teaspoons of powdered red pepper, and a teaspoon of dish detergent .crush and chop the garlic into little peices, put however much water will go into your spray bottle into a jar,put the garlic, red pepper and dish soap in the jar and let it steep for 2 days or more, then strain it the get the stuff out that will clog the sprayer and pour it into your spray bottle!and spray what ever you need it on,it will detour animals as well as insects!and it will not flavor any veggies so long as you dont spray it on the day you are picking them! it detours animals as well as insects and is totally safe for anything!

Using dish soap for bug repellant works without killing bugs it just makes your plants taste so bad that they seek other food sources. Just mix a little in a spray bottle, no stronger than you would if you were going to do dishes. Spray your plants to cover all the foliage and repeat applications every couple of days or after rain or water sprinkler wash it off..

You can buy organic bug spray in aerosole cans. It's all made with natural ingredients and plant extracts. It doesn't work as well though sadly. And gets everything that it touches all oily.

Try getting those little battery operated things that are supposed to repel bugs with noise, or plants that whatever bugs you have aren't attracted to. Like, we have a lot of fruit flies, so don't keep a lot of fruit around or out in the open (store it in the microwave or oven out of the way). So if fruit flies are your problem for example, get some little trees or something that they aren't attracted to. If they can't find anything to eat, they'll die off or leave.

one that I have been using on roses and other bushes and trees ... take garlic, a few cloves, mash it and put it in a saucepan, take a couple of dried hot chili peppers, grind them and put them in the sauce pan. Add some water and boil. add a few slivers of soap (like fels naptha that one uses for hand washing diapers) let the mixture cool. Strain well and put it into a spray bottle and spray. The soap keeps the mixture on the leaves and stems, the garlic and chili repel the bugs.
