NFL players are bigger, stonger, faster. Almost all of them have college educations. The average NFL player could pick up the average Super 14 player, turn him upside down, and shake him like a piggy bank.

I'd say they're both as tough as one another, but for smarter, i'd have to say NFL. only a complete moron would wanna go out and play any form of football with no pads. i played football all the way through high school, and I can honestly say i popped a few people good, and i took my share as well. i'd never wanna do that without pads. that's insanity.
