Time is the most precious commodity. Ask them, what would they want to do first. Don't second guess. Ask them.

Secondly, if she or he likes a certain books, then buy one and read a chapter a day for them. Spend time with them, share with them about the world, and tell that person...how much you care. Don't let them die not telling them. I know you're going to do but words are also powerful. Say you care about them because in those times, such words meaning something.

But please, ask them what would they want to happen. You'd find, it is the simple things in life, which you can help them with.

Thats really hard to do, I guess the first thing I would do is steel myself so that I can be strong enough to be good company, then I'd show them how much I care and spend ll my time with them, finally I'd make sure that they have done everything they ever wanted to do!

hey by the way if this is happening to u im sorry!

I'd set a spending limit (that I could afford!) and let them have a day to do anything they wanted, whether travel or go shopping, try something new...anything in the world that they can think of, for a full 24 hours.

If you know some of the things they love to do,
go do those things with them. Spending time with
them is what's most important. Have some good discussions
with them about what you really dig about them.

Show them you care, be supportive.
Ask them what they'd like to do for fun, and go live it
up with em.
Make good memories.
It will help them know you really care,
and it will help you, when they are gone.

From experience,

Be a friend. I think most people that are dying would like having someone around that can make them feel cared about.

Every case is so individual, depending upon their health etc.. and your relationship - - I think keep it as normal as possible, as much in character as the time you have spent with them in the past. Treat them as if they are alive, not as if they are dying. You are concerned and thoughtful enough to inquire here, so I would go with your own judgment at the time - play it by ear, your instincts will guide you. Best of luck to you.

Sit, hold their hand, and let them know someone cares and that they've made a difference in at least one persons life. Not a lot that can be done practically so let them know you love them and will miss them and, one day, hope to see them in the next life.

I guess I would try hard to treat them as I normally would. It is my guess that most of the people they care about are probably acting as if they are walking on eggshells whenever they are around. Say the things you need to say so that there are no regrets and then carry on as usual.

Just be there with them and enjoy their company for the last time. You may want to express how much they meant to you or something like that.
