Buddists, as simple as that, mainly eastern religions

I do defiantly...It comes back to treat others as you would like to be treated yourself and i think that if there is one rule that everyone should adhere to its that.

If everyone stopped worrying about praying on Sunday or what type of headgear to wear and just tried to be understanding of each other, the world would be a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race.

I might start a religion with that one rule and call it the Church of Bass, although that sounds like a cr*p club doesn't it?

if Karma does exist then I'm sure someone will leave a slightly rambling, slightly off point, cheesy lyric quoting answer to one of my questions and we will all know.

I distrust grand explanations and metanarratives (though supposedly that is a philosophy itself and should therefore also be distrusted).

Karma is not a cosmic force in my opinion. Sure, if you are nasty to most of the people you meet, then usually one of them will do something evil to you in return. If you tend to be nice to people, you are more likely to have lots of friends and be more satisified with life. But we all know it's not that simple. We've all seen nice guys finishing last. We've all seen total a.ssholes getting away with an easy life.

I don't believe there is any kind of justice awaiting them in the next life; I just don't see WHY there should be an overarching force of justice in the universe; what possible reason is there to believe in this?...
To give us comfort maybe; to allow us to let go of our anger when we feel hopelessly hard-done-by?
Or maybe (Nietzschean moment coming on) to make us accept defeat more easily; to allow society to walk-all-over us as individuals; to encourage meekness?

I don't really believe in Karma... I used to until I figured that bad things always happen to good people. Maybe I'm pessimistic, I don't know...

Karmas are what decide our life ahead. Our previous karmas have lead us to the present situations and our present karmas will decide our future. Yup....tats true!
We are all paying for our karmas itself through the medium of life.
As far as as the happenings concerned,as has already been told, the things tat r happening with us at this moment r a kind of 'reaction' to our previous 'actions',n to include tat these actions r not necessarily of this life only but of the lives tat we have lived.....which includes the 8400000 'yonees' or births in all.
If we really get in2 tis subject thn a lot could be said n it wont b just an analysis but the tuth if one is really serious about the subject. We get to know all these facts as soon as we get in2 spiritualism......n yes don't mix tat up with 'spiritism'. We have two sets of karmas.....'pralabdhas'......the karmas of our prev. birth and 'sanchit',the heap of karmas of crores of years whn we have died n lived many lives. The theory is endless........but to say tat....yes thr r karmas......they r the origin of our life.

Nah things happen because of Karma, it's the whole life thing isn't it.

My dad always used to say " the s**t always floats to the top "

Meaning ..... people always get what they deserve in correspondance to their actions, and always get found out.

I've had experience of Karma good and bad. ( that's why I don't lie, and always treat others like I like to be treated ).

Alica Keys misused the term Karma. It does not mean what you think it means. It relates to reincarnation, and the belief that the deeds of your past life dictate the position you are reborn into.

i believe that what goes around comes around. and yes, bad things happen to good people but later good things happen to them for surviving the bad. Yes, maybe those things would have happened anyway, but you don't know that. If you have no faith in fate or karma, then what do you have fate in??

I think it is a nice idea but don't believe in it.

That being nice to people leads to a nicer life comes about simply because others are likely to reciprocate your behaviour, rather than being due to karma.
