Personally, I wouldn't want anyone to "give" me away, as I dislike the symbolism but I think having your father-in-law do it would be fine if that part of the ceremony is important to you. He'll probably be very flattered and, thinking about it, there's quite a nice message that could be interpreted in doing it this way (i.e your father-in-law cares about you and will be taking an interest in his son's involvement in your life)! :-)

Yes, I reckon you can have two best men. It's up to you and your partner to make the day special so the rules only matter if you want them to.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Yes a guy can have 2 best men and a future father in law can give the bride away if they are both comfortable with the idea. More and more the bride isn't being " given away " as you never see a groom being " given away " even though I am sure lots of parents would be more then glad to get rid of an adult male. So the bottom line is it is YOUR wedding do what YOU want to do, not what you feel should be normal.

You can have two best men, that's completely up to you. It's your choice who gives you away, but I wouldn't have your father in law do it. The tradition of giving someone away is her family giving her to the groom and if someone from his family is doing the giving away that doesn't make much sense. BUT it's your wedding, you do what makes you happy and don't let anybody tell you what you should and shouldn't do.

Yes - I was one of 2 best men. It works really well - they just need to check each other's speeches so that they don't repeat anything! And yes, you can ask your father-in-law to be to give you away - I'm sure he'd be honoured! Hope it goes well!

Remember that this is your wedding, not someone else's. You can do whatever you want. If 2 best men, go for it. If you want your brother, then do that. If he won't, ask the father-in-law.

you can do it any way you want! it's your wedding! Have as many best men as you want. Have whoever give you away! it will work. Unique weddings are the most memorable. Go as unique as possible. Have fun with it! it's YOUR day!!

You can ask any body to give you away, male or female, & you can also have a 'best woman'.

In truth... you need no one to "give you away." This is a custom that assumes ownership. I guess you can ask the one who "owns" you to give you away.

two best men?...why not!
ask your brother and see what he says
the father in law...instead of "give me away" it could be an "escort down the aisle"...ok
