banana - b = anana
dresser - d = resser
grammar - g = rammar
potato - p = otato
revive - r = evive
uneven - u = neven
voodoo - v = oodoo

delete the first letter from each and u will get words with letters that repeat in some way (start and end the same), i don't know if there some english word to describe this, anyway i think got your point.

If you move the first letter of each word to the end of that word, and read the word backwards, you will get the same word.

If you take out the first letter - they are palandromes - same back as front.

If first letter is plased at the end of these word, we get the same word if read from end as below:-
