That is a simple question. Americans are the most arrogant nation on earth. Being african, we get to see all the things going on without actually being involved and America is definately the most arrogant and self absorbed nation.

I suppose this depends on who you are asking. Every nation thinks they are the best to some degree or another. Some of the smaller nations want to make themselves out to be super powers and some of the larger nations can't handle their own affairs. When it comes to judging the world classes, the better question would be, what nation is the most generous. By far this is the US. Many will deny this but no one can match the efforts we put forth on the world stage. We even give to nations that hate us and wish we were gone. Some nations depend on us for their very existence. As far as arrogance goes, all nations are arrogant, no one more than any other. If you think there is a better place to live than where you are now...go there and give it a try. Then check yourself to see how many times you say to yourself we are not like this at home.

Yes you can generalise. Any nation that is an Islamic state.
USA is far from arrogant. At least they notice what is going on in the world. Unlike the blinkered Islamics.
The British !!! NO WAY. Look at all the GOOD we do. All the peace keeping and the liberation of Bosnian Muslims. We will get out of Ireland when the BRITISH people there ask us to.
Thanks

Which country has a reputation for having a large proportion of arrogant people, in its population?
1. USA
2. Austria
3. England
4. Sweden
5. France
6. Germans (on holiday)
It seems to me that the first three have very little to be arrogant about.
The common factor appears to be Germanic ancestry. The Chinese and Arabs can be quite stuck up but they spoil my theory, so I'm not including them. [And, besides, I don't like to mess with the "Peopre's Lepubric of China" or International Jihadists. They might start missile tests or something, in my back garden.]

I don't think its down to a Nation. Every nation, country, city and hole in the road town has its share of people who are ignorant of other countries. They have big mouths and nothing to back it up except an ego. I've learned being an American living in Britain (and I've travelled around to different countries) there are so many unfair judgements made on a few obnoxious people. Therefore giving the whole country a bad name. DIFFERENT doesn't make someone good or bad. MANNERS do!
Think about how each of us react if someone asks a question of us...and has a bit of a superior attitude as opposed to someone who is mannerly and polite.
Just my thoughts....don't hang me!

All nations are arrogant to some degree, but the USA has really become obnoxious since George W Bush took office.

From all the dealing i have had when i used to deliver and pick up passports and business visas i would say the Nigerians take a lot of beating. The workers at their embassy were some of the most arrogant, ignorant and outright rude people i have had to deal with!!

Is this a rhetorical question?
USA of course.
At least the French keep their arrogance in their own country where it belongs, the USA just spreads it all over the world.

Arabics...I have taught many and I am always amazed at their arrogance. Since I am a professional, they treat me with a little more respect, but since I am a woman, they expect me to defer to men as superior. Even their women feel this way until they get a taste of American freedom.
