An Athenian Citizen was involvedin a Direct Democracy from birth. However, only the rich Men could partake in the process. Athenian men had to fight in Militas when asked, and pay fo their own gear, but otherwise they were pretty free
Spartans were warriors 24/7, only the older aged men could partake in Politics. Sparta had 2 kings, the Dual Kingship, and only blood-born Spartans could join the army and eventually become a citizen.

Athens are Sparta are both greek cities. Ancient people of these cities were different in a way that Spartans lived a poor life and loved war over anything else. Athenians were a little more civilized and scientific. They only launched war when it was required.

I KNOW THIS! lol athenian citizens were artistic and happy with life and all that good stuff were the Spartans were warriors and all that non artistic
