Hey, don't you think that people would think twice about becoming so overweight if fashion designers and retailers stopped making clothing over a size 18? What if this happened nationwide and morbidly obese people were given a year to lose weight and afterwards all the clothing in every store would be size 18 and under. I think it could work. It could also save money too. No more 3x or 4x's! All the extra cloth could go towards something else! Continuing to make these large clothes just feeds into obesity in a way. Take away the body coverings! That would get a lot of people's attention. They would put down the hamburgers for sure!

That will never happen. As long as there's a demand for big clothes, somebody will be willing to sell them. Do you really think the clothing industry will be willing to throw away hundreds of millions of dollars in sales revenue in the hopes of getting rid of obesity?

Plus, just suppose this actually did happen. Then, obese people would just wear their old clothes, except the ones who have enough money to have clothing custom-tailored. The net effect would be many, many lost jobs and no significant reduction in obesity.

Here in the UK, Doctors wanted a health warning placed on clothes over a certain size.
Over 30" waist 4 Women
Over 40" waist 4 Men.
Think in the end after a poll of sorts, they were TOLD 2 shut-up!
It's against the Human Rights of the Obese 2 draw attention 2 their continuing self-destruction.
Anyway bet the BBW brigade will B on your case soon.
Good luck they only know how 2 insult & if they wanna B fat, ugly & a threat 2 their health, that's up 2 them.
Just in case 1 or 2 of 'em pass by & realise they're killing themselves with 2 much food, here's a website 4 'em!

I disagree with you. When you're obsesses with food, you don't care soo much about what size curtain you're wearing. sorry, no offense. It would be better if the clothing company cross marketed with a brand which makes you focus more on a healthy lifestyle. Obesity is a disease, taking away clothing will not cure it.

How stupid are you?
Alot of obese people make thier clothes.
People that are obese have a food addiction problem. Getting rid of larger clothes would not solve anything. A good idea would be for other people to stop abusing obese people and start helping them.

Why are all the question about "getting rid of obesity" focusing on the outward things about it?

No one, hear me, NO ONE gives two shits about an obese person's health. Not you, not anyone who is self-righteously trying to get rid of obesity. You know why you want to get rid of it?

Because YOU happen to think that people LOOK disgusting, and poor you doesn't want to have to look at it.

Then turn your eyes away. No one's making you stare. And what good would taking away their clothing do? Make them naked and obese, that's all. You really want to see that if you can't even stand the sight of them clothed??

Your suggestion is callus and ignorant. Nutrition programs would be a much better suggestion to curb obesity. Obesity often goes hand in hand with poverty. High fat foods are often cheaper, as a result you see more heavy people who live below poverty level. What people need is help, not degredation.

What about the people who are go to the big and tall shops? There are people who are not obese, both men and women, who would have to buy a bigger size because they are muscular, or very tall.

Not going to work. With plus size clothes manufacturing it is about money. If there is demand someone will fill it. It's all about the $.

I think there'd be a whole lot of morbidly obese people who would learn how to make their own clothes or a lot of really nasty looking naked people walking around.
