It reenters the atmosphere at high speed and breaks up over the ocean. That is one of the reasons they launch over water, so debris does not fall on populated areas.

The two solid booster rockets fall into the ocean and are picked up by NASA ships. The big central fuel tank hits the atmosphere and breaks up when it hits the atmosphere. It's the only piece of the whole Space Transportation System (STS) that is not recycled.

the tank disintigrates as it is coming down the earth's atmosphere at the high speed it is going at. the dust then falls into eigther the Pacific or the Indian ocean

After the shuffling the parachute make to land in ocean.The parachute also does not allow's the booster to sink.Then it is taken by authorised people to junk.

It does parachute to the ground but the liquid fuel tanks and solid boosters are not re-used.

I'm pretty sure it parachutes down into the water somewhere to be picked up and reused later.
