ATTACK ON A GENERATION
Today's teens are being attacked by popular culture like no other generation. Hollywood, the music industry, advertisers, and even the mainstream media are using their arsenal of tools to win the battle for our teens' hearts- and so far they are winning! In order to defeat our enemy, we must know how it thinks and understand the weapons it uses. It is critical that we realize how far-reaching the crisis is- and then we must work together to stop it.
TELEVISION
This generation views 16 to 17 hours of television each week and sees on average 14,000 sexual scenes and references each year. That's more than 38 references every day.
INTERNET
This generation spends three hours a day online and is the first to grow up with point-and-click pornography. Almost 90 percent of teens have viewed pornography online at one of the 300,000 adult websites, most while doing homework.
MUSIC
More than 25 percent of teen-targeted radio segments contain sexual content; 42 percent of the top selling CDs contain sexual content
ADVERTISING
With more than $128 billion dollars in their pockets, this generation has been targeted by corporate America, who does everything it can to grow brands and profits without any regard to the moral decay of a generation.

I'm not really sure if adults understand the youth or not. I think it might just be that they need to have more acceptance of the worlds "new ways."

talking and understand its not a matter of ages. its not adults vs. youth or viceversa. sometimes the language change and for some things the time run more fast. who is living here, with a brain ok, with eyes wide open, can talk , understand and be understood too. who is living on his own planet, without meeting people, without having some sharing experience with the rest of the people around him: he/she is def, blind and with no brain to process all the data info!.

Spoiled children and fewer than privileged poverty stricken and conflict zone countries are 2 different topics. First to understand the prosperous you should understand some, not all, are self absorbed and performance a opt to have all of it in the way of trend looks and fabric possessions. This shows their wealth and is quite of a standing image. And, certain, those human beings ought to correctly be fairly shallow and selfish. although, they don't seem to blame to percentage their wealth with others in choose and for absolutely everyone to point as a lot is a socialist. And, certain, the media does taint our adolescents. some, not all young ones and young ones choose instant gratification. I raised my children without all that hoopla because I centred on elevating boys which could be reliable adult men. They were given cell telephones even as they were given a job to pay for them. No television of their rooms, ever. I watched over them and changed into not absent as I created a job so i ought to artwork from my homestead. I dedicated my time so that they could be properly adjusted. at present alot of oldsters stay above their ability and performance to artwork like dogs to have adequate money all of it and now the children are paying the cost as they don't seem getting adequate coaching and help as they mature. And, you presented up different international places who're suffering: human beings in u.s. opt to do not ignore that there are human beings the following, excellent in our own u . s . a . who've dire needs. It sickens me to make certain our tax money being shipped elsewhere in the international even as we ignore about our own citizen's needs. Poverty begins at homestead. certain, I understand what you assert, yet, lower back, those are 2 different topics.

It seems as though the children today are acting alot older then what they are by having kids when they are only kids themselves. I have seen a 12 year old girl giving birth to her second child when I was young and having my daughter when I was 18 I thought that was bad and when I seen that I couldnt believe it.
