Confused about Bank of Scot/Halifax?

I had a current account with Halifax designed for under 18s. Now I'm 18, and have got a place at a Scottish university. Do I have to set up a student account with overdraft at the Bank of Scotland, or with Halifax? I'm confused because someone told me they are the same?
