He was awaiting sentencing in september, but this is even better because he would have appealed his sentance or the verdict and most likley would have been allowed to stay out of prison on bail, most likley until he died of old age, so like the man said, Karma Strikes Again lets hope the other bastard drops dead also. I apologise to his family for being so morbidly elated but this man ruined countless lifes. so fudge him..

No, he was convicted but sentencing is scheduled for OCTOBER 23rd. He was ORIGINALLY to be sentenced Sept 11, however, it was delayed because they requested a six-week extension in order to resolve "disputed sentencing issues, such as amount of loss. The request was granted.

Personally, I was looking forward to him rotting in jail. I am a little disappointed he got out of it.

Randy -->The TRUE horror of the Enron story isn't the just the loss the investors experienced. Sometimes when thinking about what they have done, I forget that part completely. That is the absolute LEAST of their crimes. Their biggest crime, in my opinion was leading the state of California into believing their was an energy crisis when there was none. Remember that? They lobbied for, then manipulted the deregulation of energy in California for profit. It was all fake, and orchestrated by Enron and other companies like them. People DIED because they could not afford to pay for heat or AC. People couldn't pay their bills, it was awful. This is not a conspiracy theory either. They have audio recordings of Enron employees asking engineers to start rolling blackouts on days when energy consumption was low. They have solid evidence to prove the company manufactured the whole energy crisis. Lay and Skilling's only defense was that "they have no idea what goes on below them". They couldn't even deny that their company made up the energy crisis because there is too much evidence.

Anyone who is not fully aware of the crimes of Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling should watch documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. It's not just heresay. They speak to former Enron execs, and play the audio recordings I spoke of above. You will see that they are responsible for much more than just be deceitful to their investors. They are amonsgt the truest criminals out there, and in my belief, they are also murderers. There is a reason why Skilling is still facing 200 + years, its not because people lost money, its because PEOPLE DIED!! And if you live in the State of California, all the extra money you paid in the energy crisis was taken from you illegally.

Former Enron Corp. chairman Ken Lay died of a massive heart attack, according to broadcast reports.
Houston TV station KPRC and CNN both reported that Lay's death was confirmed Wednesday.
Lay, 64, was admitted to the Aspen Valley Hospital overnight with a massive coronary, according to KPRC.
Doctors said his heart simply "gave out" and the death was unexpected.
Lay was found guilty on May 25 on six counts of conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud in a case born from one of the biggest business scandals in U.S. history.
He was to be sentenced on Sept. 11.

He wasn't a very old man being only 64. I'm older than he was.

Accepting the case at face value. what he did was wrong. However, people who invested in Enron are responsible for their own investments. Remeber, before Enron collapsed, it was the investment darling of nearly everyone and all the investors were going to make scads of money, sort of the same attitude of the late 1920s. Little effort and lots of profit at no risk. It never was real.

might want to it were suicide or something else? Hmm... i will take the something else for four hundred, Alex! Excuse me if I offend all of us yet even as yahoo first printed this "breaking information", i did not believe it and nonetheless do not. I stay in Houston and that i understand some those who've suffered with the aid of Enron fiasco. not in any respect have I, nor all of us i understand, heard something with regards to him having any serious medical issues. Now i do not ignore that the pressure of him having to imagine about and practice himself to bypass out of his multi-million dollar domicile to the small cellular of the federal reformatory (oh no, not the federal reformatory with all of those different scary white collar criminals) would have led to some wellbeing issues yet he appeared okay to me. And now to excellent all of it off, I listen that they are going to have him cremated and characteristic his ashes dumped in Aspen. How freakin accessible!!! Oh yeah, by using ways, i visit purely imagine what Jeff Skilling is questioning immediately, "that son of a b**** stole my theory"!!! LMAO
