I'm going on holiday and need to know where to get some fashionable sandals, I normally hate wearing them!

Question

I am in London (UK) and have never owned a pair (not surprising as it's so dirty here!). I thought I'd get some for my next holiday. I do not like wearing flip flops (thongs), but would consider something that gets air!!!

Birkenstocks are amazingly comfortable in the heat, they cost around 30 pounds and are available from Schuh, Shoon, Urban OUtfitters, loads of places. They go with almost anything too, except very very dressy outfits.

If you just need them for a holiday, I would get down to primark or new look and get some cheap ones that tickle your fancy.

Hi - have you tried the big department stores like Debenhams (EXCELLENT shoe section for guys and gals), House of Fraser, John Lewis, Marks and Spencers....all these places would be a good start. Oh, and Clarkes sometimes have some cool stuff in. Failing this, any guys shops like Burtons etc normally have shoe sections and with the weather we're having, you shouold be able to find something suitable. hope this helps! If looking stylish is the main criterion, then I can think of three brands that are rather popular right now.

The first is Havaianas and they now make what they call trekking sandals that have an adjustable heel strap.

The second is Crocs and they're incredibly comfortable and durable.

The third is Birkenstocks, as already mentioned by many others.
