Nope. I used to until I realized why I was doing it. It's usually because something is bothering me on a subconscious level. Figure out what's bothering you and a way to fix it. And while you're trying to figure out the problem or solution- write it down as you are thinking. This will keep your hands busy. Or find something else that needs picking or plucking while you think. Maybe you need to clip or file your nails, give yourself an at-home pedicure, pluck your eyebrows (DON'T OVERPLUCK!!!!!!!!!!), curl your hair, clean, fold, cook, anything to keep your hands out of your eyelashes. Cuz honestly, isn't it embarrassing to be up close to someone and not be able to look them striaght in the eye ? Or if they notice??? Hope I coulod help!!!.....Good luck, it's a hard habit to break.....

I don't pull out my eyelashes but I scar my legs by diguing holes in them. At first I try to get an ingrown hair and I dig and dig until it bleeds and then I keep going back to it everydays until it becomes a big scar. I have been doing that for years and now my legs are soooo damaged and it hurts.
I started doing that on my arms too, it's terrible but I can't help it. I notice I'm doing that when I feel stressed out you know, like some people would light a cigarette or have a drink, well I hurt my skin !!
I really feel for you, good luck ...

Were you checking to see if they were loose or were they fully attached. There are some people with a disorder that causes them to pull out their hair...I had a friend like that...no eyebrows...no eyelashes...she's working to overcome it right now. It's not common...but it does happen. Oh...and eyelashes do grow back.

My best friend does it all the time, especially when she is stressed out. It isn't as weird as you think, many people pull out their eyelashes, eyebrows, the hair on their head. Think of the phrase, "I could just rip my hair out"....must be pretty common, eh? Try to stop, though, cause it isn't very good for you.

it's not that weird. actually there is a name for it but i can't remember. i pull out my eyebrows and sometime my eyelashes. not to the point where i have nothing left but still . . . i also have really curly hair and play with it constantly. it bugs the hell out of my parents but it is definitely a form of obsessive compulsive disorder.

It's a condition called trichtillomania. Rarer than cutting oneself but along the same lines of compulsive self-mutilation. I don't mean to sound harsh, just give you the facts. If you start this up again, see a therapist.

Hair pulling is typically a sign of a medical condition.

Eyelashes replenish themselves every 21 days. Maybe you are just really bored.

It's a form of self-mutilation.
Have you had any problems in the past. Deal with that and you will stop hurting yourself. All the best.
