I personally do not like the phrase "oh my god"...it just sounds so - overused, whether you are religious or not. I try to teach my kids to say, "oh my gosh..." or something else. The catholic school in my area does not allow students to say it...I agree with that. I wouldn't necessarily tune in just to see why someone said that. It's the TV show's job to pull out those kinds of statements during editing the promo just to entice people to watch it... It would be interesting to see the stats though!

I don't see how a society that's predominately christian finds that phrase acceptable. It's taking the Lord's name in vain, people. Kinda hypocritical behaviour, no?

well, yes because when saying thus phrase it gives more suspense to the person watching, and thinking, "why is he/she saying that, what went wrong?"
