He has not raised Taxes! And that is correct. He found it easier in 6 yrs to pander to the richer Americans and bury us in negative spending to the tune of what? Trillions?? Say what you want about Clinton we had no deficit, peace and stability. How are we ever going to pay this ?? Please no bashing, that gets us nowhere. Just a thoughtful answer would be a nice change.

theomen: Clinton made sure we arrested and tried and covicted the people responsible in this country. Anything we did regarding other countries was done swiftly and within the UN parameters. As for 50% of YOUR salary I guess if you pay that much I'd love to have your money

I guess they either don't care because they will be dead ...or have enough blind faith in the American economic system to suppose we can recover from this as we have other economic disasters in the past.
For all this debt, it would be nice if we had something to show for it, like universal health care, or better post high school education financing.
Instead we get a war without end, great class division and a schism in the American public political view so wide it makes the Grand Canyon look like a sidewalk crack.

well we could do what president Clinton did and take money from ssi and medicad and medicare to bring down the defecit. it is a wonderful thing that out of 8 years in office ran 6 years in defeciet spending and every year the national defeicit came down. how did they do that. like to be able to do that in my personal accounts. the reason we had peace is because after 5 attacks by terrorist nothing was done. this is not peace. raising taxes is not the answer have had 3 presidents who have cut taxes ( Kennday, Reagen, and Bush) and for all three the following has happened . the economy has grown, more new business, and more tax money being collected. and the reason we are spending more is directly due to 911. more security , how much money has been givin to business to restart after that terrible day. also look at all the national distars we are paying for.

Doug B., you are incorrect. Bush doesn't care about any deficit he creates. It is not his problem. Because of all of his tax cuts to the extremely rich, not one of these people will ever have to worry about it. WE (meaning the rest of us) will ALL have to pay it eventually, either in the form of a severe depression, a long-term recession, or a declining standard of living lasting decades. I didn't like some of the things that Bill Clinton did, but frankly, Democrats are better for the economy. Ask Donald Trump and Warren Buffett.

Debt is not necessarily bad. I'm in debt and most other Americans are in debt. My net worth and monthly cash flow is in the positive, so I am not worried about paying my future debts. The country's net worth and cash flow is also positive. The national debt and deficit is not a major concern. The tax cut you mentioned increased gov't revenue. The problem is not taxes, but spending. The President has no control on spending. Your compliant against the deficit should be aimed Congress, not President Bush.

I believe that under Clinton, there were only two years of surplus, but the deficit was not erased. It increased every year he was in office except for the two years I mention, and that was caused by the internet bubble. So I don't think you have much to brag about.

i think liberals who want to raise taxes should pay for the deficit. Lets raise their takes....lets say....80 % of their salary.....that should do it......the gov already takes almost 50% of our salaries...so, what 's an extra 30 % more...noting...right?.

About clinton"s peacful years...did you ever hear about kosovo, the gulf war(and later his bombing of iraq in 1998),rowanda.?Did you hear about the first wolrd trade center attack back in...1993 , i think....(when Clinton was in office).

Have a nice day......and dont forget your wallet;-)

So firing cruise missiles at Iraq during the Gulf War is peace? If so then we should be able to consider this as peace time now.
