Folks, be serious, I was asked this question and want to know ur ideas...

Hmm...good question..I think they should be self employed rather than working elsewhere.

They may run a Tele booth, a small cafeteria, or lemonade stand..etc. Those are called Self Help Groups here in India.

Actually, Region 4 is a good place for blind people to work. At least that's what it's called in Texas. What it is, is the region that formats and puts all the TAAS tests booklets from English to braile. They have proofreaders (who are mostly blind) that read the tests and make sure the words and graphs and stuff are correct. My mom works for them, she's not blind but there are a lot of people there that ARE blind.

I don't think that they should be pigeon-holed into certain jobs. Obviously, some jobs are much easier then others, but nothing is impossible! Be ready to think outside the box if you are going to facilitate an impaired person's foray into the workforce.
