Would it be allowed or be buried and hidden? Could it be spread over the internet to the public? What would the consequences be? Killing or peace and plenty?
What would be the position of the world's established religions?

it would not be allowed in the US. for the following reasons:

if it was very simple, then every household could set up a source of power. since this would not be able to be taxed, it would be made illegal.

It would upset the entire power industry. they would pay huge sums of money to our politicians and it would be made illegal.

Eventually, people would try to make power inside their homes. A new kind of "power police" would be created by the gov't and would storm down the doors of peoples homes and arrest them.

don't believe it's possible?? When faced with a problem, corporations and gov'ts become very very despotic.

It has been found, and it has been proven, however the big money men are suppressing it, because they don't know how to develop it or how much to charge. Hydrogen is the next gasoline, and don't be surprised if it becomes more expensive than gasoline despite the fact that you could produce it from water. Government legislation will make it illegal for anyone to produce it without license and make its production so restrictive it will cost many times more than current petroleum products. It will never be used or placed until all the legislation and control is in the hands of those who already control the petroleum industry.

Allowed by whom? Our government? Come on now! Do you really think that our government would allow it's people an easy way out? Hell No !!! Besides that would take the focas off of our oh, so wonderful president. Do you really think that Mr. Beady eyes would allow the focus to be taken off of him and his facade? And if it replaced crude oil, then our government would have to create a new reason for the next war. Do you really believe that our government has that much imagination? Pardon me for being less than optimistic, but geez, how much time do you really have on your hands that you even toy with such thoughts? LOL

Who wouldn't allow it? The government? There are billions of dollars out in grant money right now for research and development in alternative energy.
The oil companies? Despite what the media might tell you, the oil corporations are not the spawn of satan and don't have the power to suppress revolutionary technology like you're talking about.
So yes, it would be "allowed".

I don't know...

On one hand, you could say that "The Man"(oil companies, countries that oil comes from) would try to bring it down.

On the other hand, the people would support it and want it. The US would probably get into it. And we don't even have the highest gas/oil prices here!

All in all, I think that it would be accepted. More and more countries are becoming eco-conscious.

Nope, sorry to disappoint you, but whoever controls the oil /gas markets are not the producers, but the buyers.
so if it to be found, it would be used very very hush hush.
the killing will go on and on, as its the destiny of this world.
Religions will be the same, as the so called conflict will proceed
I hope I had satisfied your wish to know.

Well, it might not be surpressd, but the fact that it was inexhaustable might be hidden. You better believe that we would still have to pay for it!
