Well, if you win the semifinal fair and square (to the point that even some Italy haters on here admitted to it) you surely deserve a chance to win the World Cup.
Italy finally proved themselves yesterday.
Who cares if they didn't score many goals at the beginning of the tournament (but again, they won 2-0 twice and 3-0 once before the semifinals). Soccer is not only about scoring. It's also about defending and building the game. If everything some people want to see is a team that scores a lot of points, hmmmmm, they'd better watch American football instead. ;-)

I do! No doubt the Azzuri displayed their mastery and skill along with a tenacity not seen in years. A combination of the technical excecution and "heart" did the trick and displayed the outcome that at least all Italians in the world were expecting. If Italy takes the same "ingredients" to the final, nothing will stop them from winning.

Absolutely!! Yes they had a couple of lousy games early on with lousy opponents. The penalty kick with the Aussies was dubious, but so was the red card the Italian got early on. No one said they would have lost that game anyway. They had to score for the U.S. to tie up that game. They beat the CR who was the number 2 ranked team by FIFA going into the cup. Opponents haven't scored on them in a zillion years.
They have tons of talent and are a damn good team. They weren't favoured so only true fans were with them instead of jumping on the Brazil/Germany band wagon.
We beat Germany fair and square in a solid game and deserve to be in the world cup. You don't get that far by faking injuries and diving like so many desperately want to believe.

They didn't have to prove themselves, they're already the best!!
They've won the World Cup 3 other times and they will win again on Sunday!!

They proved themselves in the semi-final but I'm not sure whether that makes up for the 5 games before it. But, they have exceeded expectations to reach the final.
