I'm not talking about cross-dressing or just because of the clothes you/he/she was wearing. What was the response?

Haven't been asked but I do get called Sir sometimes at which point i puff out my considerable chest and usually get a flustered apology.

YES! and i wil never forget! but i was a kid then, about 8, 9 or 10 years when a guy asked me "are you a man or a woman?" i was confused though and i still wonder WHY ON EARTH HE ASKED THAT! and i don't even look like a girl or anything! even if i dressed like a girl, i'd still look very much like a guy! lol! its funny when i think about it though!

I got asked once, by a guy who was obviously drunk. I just ignored him.

As a teenager, I used to have my gender mistaken all the time. I usually ignored it because it wasn't a big deal and if I said something, the other person would be embarrassed.

Yes, and I can tell you it pissed me off mightily because I do not look like a man at all, even if my hair is short.

I also once held a telephone conversation with someone who kept referring to me as "mister". I just let is pass. I didn't know the guy and was never going to talk to him again, so who cares.

No, I have never been asked; however, I have at times, wondered if a person was male or female. Sometimes I never did figure it out.

Well, on the phone, people think that I am one of my brothers... Well, I correct them and react like I was not hurt. I guess my voice stinks; like a man *sniffles*

Well, it was over the phone when I was little. This telemarketer called me ma'am and I was po'ed. That's about the only time.

It's all a bit confusing really because I have letters in the post that start to read like this.....................
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you etc...................
It's starting to piss me off.
