Portugal does NOT deserve to be here, for the following reasons:
1, Luis Figo's head-butt on Mark van Bommel should've had him suspended for the England game, and then they would've lost.
2, Rooney's sent off was single-handedly caused by Cristiano Ronaldo, evidence? well he was caught on camera winking to the Portugese bench after the sent-off. Again, Portugal would've lost that game if Rooney was still there.
3, Aaron Lennon was blatantly tripped inside the box, but no penalty was called. Quite obviously, if it was, Portugal wouldn't be here.
4, The Dutch game seen cheating, diving, tackles from behind, and everything else from both teams, I really don't think you can call that "feisty", it is rather an exhibit of unsportsmanship. It's a shame that one of them actually sneaked into the top 4.
5, With 60 minutes of man advantage, they still couldn't score against England, in fact, they haven't scored since the first half of the game against Holland, thats a span of more than 180 minutes! and by the end of today, it'll probably be 270 minutes =)

ashleyxo603: No they were SO NOT the better team, especially in the England game, the English carried the play even with 10 men, they got lucky cuz England sucks at penalties.
In conclusion, Portugal is the cheapest, most violent, and unfortunately, the most lucky team so far in the world cup. It'll be a shame for the sport of soccer if they win.
Some ppl call us haters, but is it so wrong to hate blatant head-butting, excessive cheating, diving, play-acting, and telling the referee what to do? Those are not suppose to be part of the game, yet those are the only reasons why Portugal is here, besides a slice of luck in the penalty shootout.

Portugal should definitely be in the semi finals.
They worked hard to get there. You can't say they don't belong there just because they don't have tradition in soccer. that is a huge insult. it's like saying that someone can't do a certain job just because they're from a place where that job is not a "traditional" job.
And about the cheating, every team does that.
Free kicks get you goals and most teams will cheat, kick, and scream to get them.
But for the record, I think Italy has been doing the most cheating so far. They fake fouls so often that the refs don't know when to call them and when not to call them.
I think Portugal will put up a strong fight. I don't think they'll just let France "slaughter them".
they beat England and I think they could at least put up a fight against France.

Portugal not only belongs, but deserves to be in the semi finals...France have been playing according to their mood swings, Holland have been playing according to medieval war strategy, and England have been playing like a bunch of egomaniac and immature adults...As for Portugal, they've been playing fair and square and trying their very best to advance to the stages, and even managed to beat a team with only 9 players...I think I've said enough there...

the Dutch besides it earned in 2004 the title of Sub
champion of Europe defeating everybody else except the

er hello! portugal were in the final in euro 2004. portugal are an excellent team and have been for ages they deserve to do well. and a little feistiness is a good thing! france are old and have had their day, they're still playing pretty much the same team as they have been for years, they have no young talent!

Of course Portugal belongs in the semi final.They beat England and now there are getting ready to fight for the title that they deserve and that is being nominated World Champions!!!
